Frequently Asked Questions

Please book your appointment online at Vagaro.com/lunamassagemi.  If you are having issues booking online, please send me a text message to request an appointment.  I will respond to text messages within 24 hours.  New clients will still be required to put a credit card on file if they book via text.  **Please note that I am a solo therapist, private practice massage studio and do not have office staff to answer my phone and will respond to messages within 24 hours.

My office hours vary but I typically see clients Monday - Saturday with morning, afternoon and evening hours.  Please visit Vagaro.com/lunamassagemi to see my current schedule of open appointments or send me a text message with your request.  Please note that I am closed on Sunday.  Any texts/calls received on Sunday, weekdays after 7:00 p.m., or Saturday after 4:00 p.m., will be answered the following business day.

I require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment so that I can try to get another client booked in your place.  If you do not give me 24 hours notice, you will be charged a $35 late cancel/reschedule fee.  If you choose not to show up for your appointment, you will be charged 50% of the session fee.  All cancellation fees are required to be paid before you will be allowed to book another session.

I do not enjoy being sick any more than you do, so please do not intentionally expose me to your illness and receiving a massage while you are sick will make your illness worse.  I kindly request that you reschedule your appointment ASAP if you are experiencing any signs of illness including but not limited to fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, chills, rash, diarrhea, vomiting, or any symptoms associated with contagious conditions including the common cold.  If you arrive to your appointment exhibiting signs of illness, your session will be cancelled and you will be sent home.  

There generally is no charge for the occasional late cancellation due to illness but you must notify me as soon as you realize you are sick.  Please do not wait until right before your appointment to notify me.  I appreciate as much notice as possible so that I have a chance of booking another client in your place. 

You may reschedule or cancel your appointment up to 24 hours in advance online at Vagaro.com/lunamassagemi or you can send me a text message.  If it is less than 24 hours in advance, you will only be able to cancel via text and my cancellation fee will apply.

No.  My office is not open to the public.  I see clients by appointment only and rarely have same day appointments.

No.  Couples massage require 2 therapists and I am a solo therapist private practice.

Yes I do!  Parents are required to be in the treatment room for the entire session with children under the age of 16.  Adolescents 16-17 years old may be able to be in the treatment room without their parent if they and the parent consent but it will be determined on a case-by-case basis.  Parents will need to complete the intake form on behalf of the minor and also sign a parental consent form.

• Eat a light meal about an hour prior to your appointment.  Avoid eating anything heavy, if possible.
• Arrive well hydrated.  Fluids help to prevent post-massage muscle soreness.
• If possible, please refrain from using any scented perfume or cologne or smoking/vaping prior to your session.  I try to keep my studio as scent-free as possible.
• Make sure you have completed any forms that were sent to you. 
• Arrive 5-10 minutes early so that we can have a quick conversation about your goals for the session and allow you to get on the table.  Your session begins at the scheduled time of your appointment.
• If possible please remove any jewelry, especially necklaces, rings and watches/bracelets before getting on the table.

Your modesty and comfort are extremely important to me.  Undress to your comfort level.  Most women and men will remove everything but their underwear.  You will be covered during your session with a sheet and blanket and the lighting in my treatment room is dim and relaxing.
